“Boom Town” Final Presentation

"Boom Town" Final Presentation

On June 8th, 2012 students from the Urban Assembly School for Criminal Justice in Borough Park presented “Boom Town.” For this City Studies project 9th graders in an English Language Arts class worked with CUP teaching artist Ellie Irons to look at noise issues in their neighborhood.

They asked local residents and store owners when does sound become noise? When is noise a source of conflict? And how do people with different needs and perspectives share the soundscape?
