CUP at The Drawing Center

CUP at The Drawing Center

Have you ever wanted to see how CUP works up close? To see what it looks like for a project to develop, from its outline, to sketches, to final design?

Next month, The Drawing Center in NYC will unveil an exhibit focusing on CUP’s work and methodology. The exhibit, which is the final event in our celebration of the tenth anniversary of Making Policy Public, will highlight CUP’s collaborative design methods, following one project’s development from conception to completion.

Learn about the ins and outs of how CUP works through the path of Immigrants & NY, a guide on the rights and protections for immigrants at risk of deportation, created in collaboration with designer Luiza Dale and the New York Immigration Coalition.

As a part of the exhibition, CUP will be offering a series of public programs, including the interactive What is Zoning? and Sewer in a Suitcase workshops, as well as a panel discussion about representation in illustration. Visitors will also have the chance to purchase their own Making Policy Public posters at an on-site shop. For a full list of events, click here!

This exhibition is a part of Winter Term 2019, The Drawing Center’s initiative to partner with an artist or organization whose mission it is to explore the transformative role that drawing can play in civic and global society. We’re honored to have been selected to participate in this prestigious program.

We invite you to join us at the Opening Reception on Thursday, February 21st from 6-8 pm at The Drawing Center! You’ll have the chance to preview the exhibit and meet our latest collaborators for our 2019 projects.
