Call for designers!

Call for designers!

CUP is looking for skilled graphic designers, illustrators, or visual artists who are interested in social justice, demystifying policy, and meaningful collaboration!

There are two ways to work with CUP through this open call:

Be a Public Access Design Fellow, as a part of CUP’s yearlong professional development program for emerging designers. Over the course of the year, a cohort of Fellows meets to learn about community-engaged design, anti-oppression practices in design, and community organizing. Public Access Design Fellows also have the chance to connect with prominent visual designers working in social change, community organizers, and other CUP collaborators. 8-10 Fellows will be selected for the Fellowship, which starts in January 2022. Fellows receive an honorarium of $200 for their participation. Three to four Fellows will also have the opportunity to collaborate with CUP and a community partner to create a visually accessible print tool and receive an additional honorarium of $4,000. Applications are due by Monday, September 20th at 12:00pm EST–click here to learn more and apply!

Work on a Making Policy Public project, an intensive 8-10 month collaboration with CUP and a community organization that results in a fold-out poster that demystifies a complex social justice issue. We’re looking for four individuals or teams with strengths and experience in information organization, typography, and using different visuals including (but not limited to!) illustration or photography. Designers receive an honorarium of $7,000 for their collaboration. Applications are due by Monday, September 20th at 12:00pm EST–click here to learn more and apply!

Not sure which program is right for you? Watch our webinar for designers to see what we’re looking for in each program.
