Carbon City Debut Presentation

_Carbon City_ Debut Presentation

On December 20, 2017 students from the International High School for Health Sciences presented Carbon City.

Sara Smithback’s 12th grade chemistry classes from the International High School for Health Sciences (IHHS) collaborated with CUP and Teaching Artist Douglas Paulson to find out what greenhouse gases are, where they come from, and how they affect us. To investigate, students participated in a scavenger hunt to examine the neighborhood’s carbon footprint, surveyed community members about climate change, and interviewed Rolando Guzman from St. Nick’s Alliance and Ross MacWhinney from the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability. Students debuted the set of postcards they created, demonstrated their presentation skills and shared their creative process with 9th grade students in the IHHStower auditorium. On December 20, 2017 students from the International High School for Health Sciences presented Carbon City.
