Our Fall Youth Education projects are in full swing! CUP is collaborating with students across NYC to investigate social justice ranging from who is impacted by fare evasion, to the uses of facial recognition technology. By interviewing key stakeholders, conducting surveys, and visualizing their findings, students are demystifying complex systems and learning how to get involved in civic decision-making. Check out some of the topics they’re investigating!

How prisons impact a community’s mental and physical health, with students at KAPPA International High School and Teaching Artist Farideh Sakhaeifar

The role of safety officers in schools, with students from International Community High School and Teaching Artist Ro Garrido

The impact of wage theft on workers with students from International Community High School and Teaching Artist Stephanie Echeveste

The uses and misuses of facial recognition technology, with students at Bronx School for Law, Government, and Justice and Teaching Artist Hugo Rojas.
