Launch of Your Guide to Welfare in NYC

Launch of _Your Guide to Welfare in NYC_

On Thursday, April 30th, we launched Your Guide to Welfare in NYC, a Making Policy Public collaboration of CUP, the Safety Net Project (SNP), and design team All Other Services. CUP and SNP held a press conference with NYC’s Human Resources Administration (HRA), the city agency that administers public assistance.

HRA Commissioner Steven Banks addressed a crowd of reporters, advocates, and clients, highlighting Your Guide to Welfare in NYC and how it will help people get the benefits they depend on for survival. SNP client Wendy O’Shields spoke about the difficulties she experienced when first applying for public assistance. The poster, she said, is “a blueprint for public assistance in 2015 and I hope it will be widely distributed!”
