Meet the Jurors for CUP's Fellowship for Change in Design

We pulled together an all-star group of jurors to help us select our next CUP Fellow for Change in DesignThis year we are joined by Juliette Cezzar (top right), Edel Rodriguez (bottom right) and,

Forest Young (bottom left)

 

Juliette Cezzar is a designer, writer, and Assistant Professor of Communication Design at the New School’s Parsons School of Design, where she was the Director of the BFA Communication Design and BFA Design & Technology programs from 2011–2014. She served as President of the board of directors of AIGA/NY from 2014–2016.

Edel Rodriguez is an internationally recognized visual artist. He is a regular contributor to the The New York Times Op Ed page and The New Yorker magazine, and has created over a hundred newspaper and magazine covers for clients such as TIME Magazine, Der Spiegel, Newsweek, The Nation, Businessweek, The New Republic, and The Village Voice.  He has created dozens of book covers for clients such as Simon & Schuster and Penguin Random House, including a series of ten covers for books by Chinua Achebe, most notably “Things Fall Apart.” He has illustrated nine children’s books, two of which he has written. He has also created several stamps for the U.S. Postal Service and has illustrated poster and advertising campaigns for many operas, films, Broadway shows and other clients such as Chanel, Pepsi, Ray Ban and Nespresso. Rodriguez’s artwork is in the collections of a variety of institutions, including the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C., as well as in many private collections.  His work has received numerous awards from The Art Director’s Club and The Society of Illustrators in New York City.

Forest Young is a designer and educator. He is the Head of Design and Global Principal for Wolff Olins, where he leads design initiatives for the world’s most influential companies. Forest is also a critic in graphic design at the Yale School of Art. Prior to joining Wolff Olins, Forest was the Executive Creative Director at West, leading design across a portfolio of early stage companies alongside Allison Johnson. He recently served on the Board of Directors for AIGA NY, and is currently teaching one of CCA’s inaugural courses — Future Design.
