Video What the Cell?

Blackberries, Razors, and Droids, OMG! We spend so much time with them, but cell phones are still a mystery. How do our voices travel through the air? Why do our bills work the way they do? Who owns the air?

To unscramble the signals, an intrepid crew of NYC high school students interviewed engineers, lawyers, consumer advocates, and electrophysicists; inspected a high-security switching station; and scoped out Consumer Reports’ test labs. They created this documentary with CUP about switches, wires, airwaves, and policies that affect your cell phone service. Check out this video and get to know your airwaves a little better.

If you are looking to acquire a copy for a library, or are interested in hosting a screening, please email info@welcometocup.org.
